Pavilion FAQs

What's the difference between a gazebo and a pavilion?

Gazebos and pavilions are both outdoor structures that provide shade and shelter, but they have distinct differences.

Gazebos: Typically smaller, enclosed structures with a roof and open sides. They often have a distinct shape like an octagon or hexagon and can offer more privacy.

Pavilions: Larger, open-air structures with a roof supported by posts. They have completely open sides, creating a more open and airy feel. Pavilions are often rectangular or square in shape.

Do you pavilions come in custom sizes?

We don’t have any sizes other than sizes you see on the website. Yard Craft outdoor structures are designed as kits, so we can keep our prices lower. Plus, we don’t have inventory space to store a variety of custom sizes, and keeping our sizes consistent makes shipping easier.

Can I put my Pavilion directly on Grass?

Installing the structure on grass is not recommended due to settling and wearing of the wood. We recommend using a concrete slab, crushed rock, or putting footers under posts to make sure the structure is level.

My post has a large crack on it, what should I do?

Outdoor wood products, like our structures, are susceptible to checks and splits due to moisture changes. These are normal and don't affect the product's lifespan.

To minimize their appearance, stain exposed areas with the provided stain. This will help maintain the structure's look.

Round Fire Pit Table FAQs Answered

Does a fire pit need to be round?

No, fir pits don't have to be round. While round fire pits are popular due to
their traditional shape and ease of creating an even heat distribution,
fire pits come in various shapes such as square, rectangular, or custom
designs. The shape you choose depends on your personal style, the
available space, and how you plan to use the fire pit.

What is the purpose of a tabletop fire pit?

A tabletop fire pit is designed to provide warmth and ambiance in a compact, convenient form. It’s ideal for small spaces like patios, balconies, or outdoor dining areas. It can also be used for decorative purposes, and certain models allow for functions like roasting marshmallows. Tabletop fire pits add an inviting atmosphere while offering a portable and low-maintenance option compared to larger fire pits.

How do you maintain a fire pit?

Maintaining a fire pit involves:

Cleaning it regularly: Remove ash and debris after each use.
Inspecting for rust or damage: For metal fire pits, clean any rust and repair damages.
Covering it: Use a cover when not in use to protect it from the elements.
Seasonal maintenance: Before winter, thoroughly clean it and apply rust-preventing solutions if necessary.

How to protect a fire pit from rain?

Use a cover: A weather-resistant cover helps keep water out and prevents rust.
Store indoors: If your fire pit is portable, move it to a dry space during rainy weather.
Drain holes: Ensure your fire pit has proper drainage to avoid water buildup.

How do I make sure my fire pit is safe?

Place it on a fire-resistant surface: Avoid placing it on grass, wooden decks, or near flammable materials.
Keep a safe distance: Position it at least 10-20 feet away from structures or overhanging trees.
Use a spark screen: This prevents embers from flying out.
Avoid flammable liquids: Don’t use gasoline or other accelerants to start the fire.
Supervise: Never leave a fire pit unattended, especially when children or pets are nearby.
