What is a Fire Pit Enclosure?

A fire pit enclosure is an all-in-one kit that offers the benefits of a built-in fire pit without the complexities of extensive construction. The pre-fabricated structure eliminates guesswork and simplifies installation, saving you time and effort.

Main Difference of a Custom Fire pit explained

Unlike a pre-built fire pit, the HPC Octagon fire pit enclosure boasts an unfinished exterior. This blank canvas allows you to unleash your creativity and personalize the fire pit's appearance with any finish you desire. Examples include stone, veneer, or stucco. The result? A custom fire pit that flawlessly integrates into your patio's design, creating a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing outdoor environment.

Finalize Your Fire Pit Enclosure in 3 Easy Steps:

Step 1: Select Gas Type

Choose between Natural Gas or Liquid Propane based on your existing gas line compatibility.

Step 2: Select Burner Type
  • Standard Penta Burner: This burner features gas holes drilled into the stainless steel for a standard flame.
  • Torpedo Penta Burner: According to HPC, this burner utilizes precision-engineered nozzles to create a larger and warmer flame without using more gas.

Step 3: Choose Your Ignition Style

The HPC Octagon custom fire pit enclosure Kit offers three ignition options for your preference:

  • Match Lit: This classic method uses a key valve to control gas flow and a match, taper, or lighter for ignition. You can adjust and turn off the flame using the same valve (Simple and requires no additional power source).

  • Push Button Flame Sensing: This option features a spark probe ignited by a button on the control panel. Plus, a safety shut-off cuts gas if the flame goes out. This battery-powered system is ideal for locations without AC power (Convenient and safe, good for areas without AC power).

  • Electronic Ignition On/Off: This most advanced option offers flame sensing like the Push Button system but with automatic re-ignition if the flame goes out. Choose between two voltage options:

  • 120VAC: This model allows for remote control via a wall switch, timer, whole-house system, or an optional remote control (Most versatile, requires electrical wiring).
A black remote control with a red button on the front sits next to a white electrical socket with two holes. Text on the remote control reads "HPC 120VAC Outdoor On/Off Remote Control" and "SOLD SEPERATELY"
  • 24VAC: This model allows control via a wall switch or whole-house system. It requires a separate 24VAC transformer (sold separately) for remote control functionality

Round Fire Pit Table FAQs Answered

Does a fire pit need to be round?

No, fir pits don't have to be round. While round fire pits are popular due to
their traditional shape and ease of creating an even heat distribution,
fire pits come in various shapes such as square, rectangular, or custom
designs. The shape you choose depends on your personal style, the
available space, and how you plan to use the fire pit.

What is the purpose of a tabletop fire pit?

A tabletop fire pit is designed to provide warmth and ambiance in a compact, convenient form. It’s ideal for small spaces like patios, balconies, or outdoor dining areas. It can also be used for decorative purposes, and certain models allow for functions like roasting marshmallows. Tabletop fire pits add an inviting atmosphere while offering a portable and low-maintenance option compared to larger fire pits.

How do you maintain a fire pit?

Maintaining a fire pit involves:

Cleaning it regularly: Remove ash and debris after each use.
Inspecting for rust or damage: For metal fire pits, clean any rust and repair damages.
Covering it: Use a cover when not in use to protect it from the elements.
Seasonal maintenance: Before winter, thoroughly clean it and apply rust-preventing solutions if necessary.

How to protect a fire pit from rain?

Use a cover: A weather-resistant cover helps keep water out and prevents rust.
Store indoors: If your fire pit is portable, move it to a dry space during rainy weather.
Drain holes: Ensure your fire pit has proper drainage to avoid water buildup.

How do I make sure my fire pit is safe?

Place it on a fire-resistant surface: Avoid placing it on grass, wooden decks, or near flammable materials.
Keep a safe distance: Position it at least 10-20 feet away from structures or overhanging trees.
Use a spark screen: This prevents embers from flying out.
Avoid flammable liquids: Don’t use gasoline or other accelerants to start the fire.
Supervise: Never leave a fire pit unattended, especially when children or pets are nearby.
