Do I need a conversion kit when I purchase the Uluru fire pit in Natural Gas?

Your Uluru fire pit will arrive ready for connection to your natural gas line if you ordered the natural gas configuration.

No conversion kit is needed in this case.

For safety and proper installation, we strongly recommend a licensed gas technician or plumber handle the hookup.

Conversion kits are only for switching between liquid propane and natural gas.

Does it come with a burner cover?

Yes, the Uluru square fire pit comes with a custom-fit aluminium cover for the burner. Simply place the lid over the fire pit to transform it into a covered coffee table.

Is the complimentary fire pit cover UV protected?

The included fire pit cover is made from natural fabric and, like all natural materials, will show wear over time, particularly with sun and rain exposure.

While not UV protected, it still provides adequate protection for your fire pit.

What is the total weight of the Uluru Fire Pit Package package?

The fire pit weighs 206lbs and with the box and pallet included it weighs between 256lbs - 296lbs

Do You Let a Fire Pit Burn Out?

Yes, it's the safest way to extinguish a fire pit. Here's why:

  • Safety: Letting the fire burn out naturally avoids using water, which can cause hot coals and embers to crackle and potentially spread.
  • Efficiency: Water can turn hot coals to steam, making it harder to completely extinguish the fire.

Here's how to properly let your fire pit burn out:

  • Stop adding fuel: Don't add any more wood or logs to the fire.
  • Let it cool: Allow the fire to burn down until the coals are cool to the touch (no embers). This can take several hours.
  • Check for embers: Use a metal tool to spread the ashes and double-check for any remaining hot embers.

Alternative (if necessary):

  • Sand or Gravel: If you need to extinguish the fire faster, carefully pour sand or gravel over the coals to smother them. Never use water.

Remember: Always have a bucket of water or fire extinguisher nearby in case of emergencies. Check your local fire codes for any specific regulations on extinguishing fire pits.
