Yard Craft EZ Shade Canopy Roof for Pergola

This EZ Shade canopy is a game-changer for our pergola. The sliding mechanism is incredibly smooth—it takes literally seconds to extend or retract the shade. We got the stained option, and it matched our pergola's finish perfectly. No more baking in the direct afternoon sun!

The fabric used for the canopy seems very durable and high-quality; it feels like genuine Sunbrella material. It blocks the harsh UV rays perfectly while still allowing a nice filtered light. The aluminum tracks and hardware are solid and built for outdoor longevity.

This canopy is clearly made to fit the Yard Craft pergola system perfectly. Installation of the tracks was straightforward because of the pre-drilled nature of the pergola beams. It took about 2 hours with two people. Just confirm the compatibility with your specific pergola model before buying!

At $2,079.00, it’s a significant investment on top of the pergola, but the retractable function makes it superior to a fixed roof. We can choose full sun or full shade easily, which is key. We chose the unstained version to match our custom paint color.

While it’s primarily a shade solution, the fabric canopy does a surprisingly good job of deflecting light rain, keeping our outdoor furniture dry during brief summer showers. We haven't had it through heavy rain yet, but for everyday use, it adds a lot of flexibility.
